"Focus", more than meet the eye.

Presenting "Focus" by Norah Jane, featuring Razeen—the second single from Norah Jane's debut album, produced by me under TLKBX RCRDS.

"Focus" emerged during a moment of creative struggle. While working on the track, Norah was softly singing into a BM57 microphone, her voice blending with the beat as she sat by the corner of my French balcony. I overheard her quietly mumbling, "just trying to get my focus," and instinctively hit record. After she left, slightly frustrated with her lyrics, I decided to build the track around that delicate hook she had been humming. I sent it to her, and the rest is history. With the foundation in place, we invited Razeen into the studio, and together, we completed the track.

The music video was conceptualized by Milo McCafferty and me, with the final edit done by Sam Klement. I handled the rough cut myself. Working as both the director and producer has been an incredible learning experience, teaching me a lot about the industry, managing expectations, and navigating the challenges that come with it.

The track is sung in Arabic and English which is absolutely refreshing. Razeen speeks about wishing to do the things he loves with focus, passion and conviction in Arabic, while Norah reflects this from her perspective in English
